THE PRACTICAL DETAILS

Before your
first build.

Is this a ready-made hardware product?

PiNT Hardware is an open-source build project for Raspberry Pi 4. Follow the repository’s setup instructions to assemble and configure your own field unit. Open the project ↗

Do I need the touchscreen?

No. The local web interface can be used from your phone after joining the unit’s Wi-Fi hotspot. The MPI3501 3.5-inch touchscreen and kiosk mode are optional.

What can affect switch identification?

Switch details depend on discovery advertisements reaching the unit over Ethernet. Available information depends on what the connected switch advertises. Check the repository for current setup instructions and supported behaviour.

Can I contribute or report a problem?

Absolutely. PiNT Hardware is open source and MIT licensed. Open an issue in the relevant GitHub repository with the tool version, your platform and a reproducible description, or get in touch at reece@pinetworktools.com. Remove credentials and sensitive network details before sharing logs.
